We're in the middle of exams here at Duke University. As study guides pile up and cram sessions crawl past midnight, it's important to balance work with some relaxation.
Here are a few of our favorite places to relax and unwind close to our apartments near Duke:
Take advantage of the beautiful spring weather with a hike through this gorgeous state park. Covering more than 4,200 acres, this park offers easy access to several miles of the Eno River, where you can launch a raft or kayak for a few hours on the water to destress and regroup. If you have the time, bring a tent and spend a night under the stars.
At Monuts, you can choose among the flavors and decide between a cake or dough donut. If you don't want so much sugar, you can order up a tasty breakfast sandwich or bowl with all your favorite breakfast treats. Take a box of donuts and pastries with you to share at your study group.
Find cuteness at the Duke University Lemur Center. You can take a tour of the center and see all the adorable, fuzzy animals with their massive eyes. It's your chance to forget about your final exams for a couple of hours.
When the sun goes down, head over to Parts and Labor Motorco for some late-night snacking, cold beer and on many evenings, live music. Find a spot on the patio and hang out for a while with your friends before returning to your study schedule.
At Station Nine, we understand how much stress you're under during exams. We're here to help. Please contact us for more information on the best place in Durham to call home.
