Celebrate St. Patrick's Day at Lafayette Village on March 21st!

St. Patrick's Day is a widely-celebrated holiday in the United States, but it's also observed across the entire world. Whether you'd like to eat, drink, or be merry, there's a lot to love about this festive holiday.

North Carolinians have a long history of being hospitable and can throw one heck of a party. Thankfully for residents of our apartments near Duke University, Lafayette Village in nearby Raleigh is throwing a free St. Patrick's Day festival on Saturday, March 21st.  If you're already planning a celebration on the 17th, you must have the luck o' the Irish on your side — you get to do it again!

This family-friendly event will honor all things Irish with food, live music by local artists, Irish dancing demos, an interactive photo booth, and much, much more. It all goes down from 12-4 pm on March 21st at Lafayette Village, which is a short 30-minute drive from our student apartments in Durham, NC.

Several immersive activities are planned throughout the day, promising fun for all ages.

Guests will have the opportunity to write with a quill pen and create their own traditional illuminated letters.

Irish Quest Scavenger Hunt

The festival's younger visitors will be given clues to find treasure throughout the Village. Hunters who finish will get a commemorative token and certificate.

Brass Rubbings

The craft tent will feature a station where visitors can create their very own Irish brass rubbings.

Irish Myths & Legends

Well-known characters from ancient Irish folklore and mythology will be on hand to tell their legendary tales. Word has it even Saint Patrick himself will make an appearance!

The Tavern at the Sign of the Oak and Acorn

Visit the huge recreated medieval pavilion to be transported to a time before electronic devices. Guests can try their hand (and luck!) at historic lawn games and other games of skill.

For visitors who want to make an evening out of it, consider checking out the Village Shops as well. With tons of options for dining and shopping, there's truly a little something for everyone!

The festival is conveniently located just a short drive away from our apartments near Duke. If you're looking for an apartment, don't hesitate to reach out. We have several one and two bedroom floor plans to choose from and would love to show them to you. Contact us today for a tour!
